Relocating to Iberia

*Iberia is located in the gently rolling Ozark hills. Two major highways cross, Highway 17 a North/South route and Highway 42 an East/West route, these two highways accommodate centrally many attractions and centers. Thirty miles South is Fort Leonard Wood, one of the nations largest military bases. This provides employment opportunities. A short drive west provides access to the Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Lee C. Fine Airport and the resort area of Lake of the Ozarks.

*Iberia is only 40 miles Southwest from Missouri's capital city of Jefferson City. The City of Iberia was first noted in historical record in 1840, when 32 residents petitioned the county for a road from the post office to the Osage River ferry and to Jefferson City.

*The City of Iberia with a population of 850 has very good water and sewer system, paved streets and law enforcement staff available full time. The crime rate is very low. Citizens are conscious about their neighbors and eager to assist our law enforcement officials. It also has a state of the art fire department, and ambulance service staffed by paramedics. The insurance rate for fire is class 6, which is outstanding for a community of this size. The city has broad band commerce capability.

*The Iberia R-V School is fully accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary education. It serves K-12 on a beautiful 123 acre campus. It has extensive academic and extra curricular programs. It offers various sports and is the home of the 2001 Class 2 A State Baseball Champions.

*We have a clothing manufacturing plant, which has stayed in the United States, due to the work ethics and quality of work of the employees that keep it here. We have numerous churches that coordinate with the several service organizations for the betterment of the community.

*Iberia provided family recreational opportunities. The City Park was donated by the local Lions Club. It has walking trails, picnic facilities. A horse arena is available for horse shows, mule shows and rodeos. Our Summer sports programs are available for children through adults. Our library is associated with the Heartland Regional Library Service of Maries and Miller County. It has access to material across the United States. Numerous historical sites abound in and around Iberia, within city limits visitors may view the old city jail built in the 1800's. the Iberia Academy situated on 3 acres is vocal point of the community. It was established October 1, 1890. It provided a liberal areas education and was later affiliated with Drury College in Springfield. It continued to provide a junior college education until 1951. A short drive east of Iberia, provided visitors an opportunity to see an operating water mill dating from civil war years. Bray's Mill is one of Missouri's most interesting historic sites.

*Our community provides opportunities for industrial and commercial development and expansion. There is a solid work force to draw from, resources available and ready transportation access. Iberia provides an excellent base for retail development. Its local population support new businesses and our eager for entertainment and shopping opportunities. During recent years eight new businesses have opened and enjoy continued growth.
